Exam Review
Exams are over, your last papers are graded-- you are finished with school for the year! Well, except for your debate, but I won't dwell on that... I think it is important that we take a second to reflect of your exams, however. When I give you your history exam, and, if you are in 7th grade, when I return your literature exam, I want you to take your thesis statement and the first and last sentences of each body paragraph, and copy them into a comment box for this entry. That means you will have 7-8 sentences total. Be sure to include your name in the comment(at the top, please); I will delete the name before I post it. If you took two exams with me, that means you have two posts to make. This will be graded.

The Civil War was caused by disagreements between the Democrats and the Whigs, the expansion of the country, and the major slave rebellions.
The disagreements in Congress played a major part in causing the Civil War. This question is what it all comes down to.
Another reason for the squabbles between north and south was how to handle slave rebellion. These things made the north feel bad for the slaves and thus they were inspired to fight.
The growth of the country also caused conflict leading to the war. The country was divided by the line of the Missouri Compromise and heading towards war.

there were economic differences between the north and the south. there were growing abolitionist movements. there were many conservertial issues.

there were also growing abolitionist movements. kansas became a slave state and fighting broke out wich was called the bloody kansas.
there were a great many aggressions between the pro and anti slavery groups. this made the north relize even more how bad slavery was.

The casue of the Civil War is mostly the Manifest Destiny. The Manifest Destiny has three major parts, slavery, compromises, and modern society.
Slavery was one of the most major causes of the civil war.
Slavery was a majordivision of the country.
Compromises was a big effect on the civil war.
Compromises was the one that split the country in half.
Modern Society was lastly a major cause of the Civil War.
Modern Society was not ready for the United States

question: how do we know when someone's smart when we first meet them?
thesis:I judge how smart someone is by presentation, jobs or education, and reputation.
paragraph 1: Because we humans automatically judge others, we judge how smart they are by first glance.
The reason for these judgements is that they look and sound more educated and "smart".
paragraph 2: When a person first meets someone new, we often ask,"so what do you do for a living?" or "what school or college do you go to?"
This is more accurate way of telling how "smart" some one is than their presentation.
paragraph3:Even before people talk to someone new, they might already know about this new boy or girl.
We judge new people's intelegence from their reputation or other people's judgements because we trust these people's judgement.
