HISTORY
The conflict can be summed up to growth, space, and race. First off, the division during growth caused the civil war. Many controversial things happen too such as taking Mexico, extending border and the louisiana purchase. Secondly, space and westward expansion caused the civil war. Many People pushed westand problems such as the Kansas-Nebraska act and popular sovereignty arose. Lastly, race caused the civil war. Tensions from nullification and abolishionists added to the issue also.

There are many other possible answers to this but the three main are slavery, economical disputes between the north and south, and the different lifestyles between them as well.
The first cause of the civil war was the different viewpoints of slavery between the north and south. That is why slavery was one of the main causes of the civil war.
The next major topic that caused the civil war was the economical disputes between the north and the south. The threatening to succeed from South Carolina was the first step of revolt from any of the states.
The final cause of the civil war was the different lifestyles and cultures between the north and south. That is how cultural disagreement caused the civil war.
